Over the last couple of weeks, I've felt tired, worried, uncertain, scared, all the emotions but also, this overwhelming feeling of gratitude. I'm so grateful for my health, family, and our safe home. But with this gratitude comes the desire to spread love and hope. I know that people want to help but it's hard to navigate what we can do in these uncertain times. I've made a list of ideas of how you can spread some love, which is written below.
Also, if you are feeling like you are struggling mentally, need support with groceries, general tasks or are worried financially, don't be afraid to reach out. Here are a couple of websites that you can post your needs and volunteers will connect with you.
Let's Spread Some Love!
1. Decorate your windows. #aworldofhearts
2. Sidewalk Chalk. #letsallbewell
3. Write letters to your neighbours to check in and see how they're doing, or to see if they need groceries.
4. Support Local. Shop Local. Buylocal.ly
5. Leave Out Goodies for Delivery People.
6. Donate Blood.
7. Donate to Organizations in Need. (This is a short list of many!)
-Winnipeg Harvest
-Main Street Project
-Breakfast Club of Canada
-Winnipeg Animal Food Bank (Food donations can be dropped of at the Pet Valu store on Plessis or email help@animalfoodbank.ca for home pickup. You can also donate money by buying a gift card from the Pet Valu on Plessis.)
8. Volunteer with One Neighbourhood Winnipeg or Help Next Door.
9. Connect with family and friends!
We will get through this together! What other ways can we spread love and support each other??
Take care, stay safe and stay home!
