I stumbled across COCO Resale on Instagram and ever since I have been ogling over their collections of previously loved clothes while also, Marie Kondoing my closet and consigning with them. COCO Resale, a.k.a the Community Collective Closet, is a local business started by two inspiring women, Carin and Saskia. These best friends met in the clothing industry sixteen years ago. Now with six kids between the two of them, they utilized a gap in the resale market to start a business of their own. This “virtual closet” is an ideal place for women to visit and find “higher quality clothes, while also helping to reduce our impact on the earth.” They seek clothes from brands like Aritzia, Antropologie, Club Monaco, and Nordstorm, which are perfect for the professional woman, stay-at-home mom or truly any woman looking for high quality pieces.

The process is simple: you drop off your pre-loved clothes (pick up is also an option), then the Carin and Saskia will go through them to look at the brands, the condition and quality of the clothes as well as the potential resale value. Once selecting the items they want to sell, Carin and Saskia tag them for inventory, steam and photograph the pieces. Lastly, they post them to their Instagram feed where you have the opportunity to purchase! COCO Resale often posts clothes randomly in order to offer a variety of sizes and styles. However, they also post collections,"parties", including an assortment of clothes in particular theme. Their upcoming Fall Collection is one I have my eyes peeled for!!

As Carin and Saskia slowly grew their business amidst the chaos of kids and sharing ideas over wine, they also developed strong values: "no frills, open communication, questions answered, kind and honourable business owners." COCO Resale cares about helping their clients pick clothing suited for their size and body. They are even willing to try the clothes on themselves and send "terrible selfies" to their clients!
