Our Annual Halloween Party

Halloween is my birthday! I've always loved having my birthday on Halloween. I mean who wouldn't love getting lots of candy AND presents on one day! But for the last two years, I have loved hosting a Halloween party for the kids in our circle of friends. I love to decorate the house with cobwebs and pumpkins and make Halloween themed food! And I especially love planning activities for the kids to play - that's just the teacher in me!

This year I planned for the kids to play in the bouncy house, do an outdoor scavenger hunt, and a human pinata game! You can't go wrong with a bouncy house, all the kids love to jump around in there. We ended up buying one this year in hopes that we can use it for many years to come.

For the outdoor scavenger hunt, I put together pictures of different Halloween decor that the kids can run around the yard to look for!

And this year I was so excited to try out this human pinata game. Basically, a human pinata is where you hot glue a bunch of Halloween candy onto a t-shirt, which Wilson and another Dad wore. The two Dads then ran around the yard with the kids in tow trying to grab the candy off the shirt! I loved the idea (which I found on an Instagram account I follow @fullmhouse) and I had to try it! It was so simple for me to prepare and SO fun for the kids and adults watching! Hehe

As for the food, I made lots of Halloween themed snacks and Butternut Squash soup, ordered pizza. Blonde Girl Bakes made the desserts which were these amazing - Halloween cookies and cake pops.

At the end of the day, it was an incredible afternoon filled with laughs! What a great way to celebrate Halloween with all of the kids!
