I love Fall! Maybe it's because that's when my birthday lands, but I think it's more so because of the beautiful colours, the warm sweaters, and of course the Fall smells. The rich smells of pumpkin spice, pumpkin and apples are just comforting as the cozy blankets and sweaters that we bundle up in. So, why not have your house smell like this all the time?
Simmer pots are a mix of different spices and fruit that you simply add to a pot of water. It reminds me of mulled wine, the simmer pot sits on the stove brewing and filling the house with its beautiful aroma. Here are a couple of Fall simmer pot recipes that have been filling my house.

Orange peel, 4-5 cinnamon sticks, 5 bay leaves, a tbsp. of whole cloves and a tsp. of vanilla.
An apple sliced, 1/2 tsp. pumpkin spice and 2 whole anise.
Orange peel, lemon peel, tsp. of vanilla and 5 whole cloves.

Add one of these recipes to a pot of water, set it on low and let it simmer for the evening, leaving your house smelling like a bakery. Now all we need to do is whip up some pumpkin recipes!
