A couple of months ago, Wilson and I tried to put up removable wallpaper in Emilia's room. As you may have seen on my Instagram stories, it didn't quite go as planned...with the concept of removable wallpaper in my head, I was expecting it to be a breeze. But after damaging the drywall when we tried to reposition the wallpaper, we thought it was best to stop and count our losses! A quick spackle and sand fixed the drywall and we were back to the drawing board to figure out what to do for this accent wall. I was tossing between the idea of doing board and batten halfway up the wall (which meant doing the whole room rather than simply one wall) or applying wall decals. I wasn't quite ready to tackle another board and batten project and I was SO in love with the irregular polka dot pattern that I had on the wallpaper. So, I decided to try and find wall decals that were similar to that.
My search didn't take long when I found these perfect Tiny Hand Drawn Dots decals in Cobblestone from The Lovely Wall. I've used The Lovely Wall decals before and they are seriously SO EASY to apply! The colour was exactly what I was going for - a soft, pretty colour- and I was sold!

I've been itching to get these up on the wall, so when they arrived a couple of days ago, I used a nap time (my best DIY time) to quickly apply them. I used the first couple of decals to figure out the spacing that I liked. I ended up going for approximately 2 inches apart. I found this spacing didn't look too cluttered. I also wanted to keep in mind how many decals I had to make sure I could complete the whole wall. (It was actually pretty tight in the end and there's a few spots that could use more decals!) Overall, I'd say it took me about 45-60 minutes to get them all up with the assistance of my little helper at the end!

Both Emilia and I are excited with the way it turned out! Before bed last night, she said "my wall looks pretty". I agree, honey! Wall decals for the win. Doesn't mean I won't try wallpaper again but I do love the ease of decals!
