Well, I think I might have a bit of a problem...my mind has been jumping around like a bouncy ball from one idea to another, thinking about all the house projects that I want to do. Before even tackling one project, my list of potential projects has quadrupled!! 😳😳😳 I think that my newfound confidence of power tools is the culprit. So in an effort to sort out my scrambled brain I’m writing a list of projects that I hope to tackle during the rest of 2020.
Play Structure - We're wanting to add some safety boards and then, add a little fun surprise for the kids! Hint, hint it’s where all the weeds are growing underneath!
The Library - Earlier in the summer, I painted our front door, which lead me to paint the wall surrounding the door, which has lead me to my library project. A classic case of domino projects. The library project isn't a big one, which is why I'm using it as a starting point. I want to finish painting the library Alabaster by Sherwin Williams. Once it's painted I'm going to style the wall above the piano. It currently has a collage of family pictures that I love but all of the pictures are missing Jacob in them. So I'm going to find a new home for that collage and try something different above the piano. I'm thinking a gallery wall or large black and white portraits of the kids.
Finish Painting Emilia’s Room
Finish Painting Our Bedroom
Living Room Lighting- Our living room doesn’t have any lights! We’ve always put floor lamps in there but they just don’t fill the space. We hardly notice it in the summer when it doesn’t get dark until later but once the seasons start to change and it gets dark so much earlier. I’m going to be reminded of this dark room. The dream is to put a chandelier in however with the height of our ceilings, that is a BIG job so I think I will be opting for an easier, less costly fix, which is putting sconces on either side of the built in shelves.
First project - The Library ☑️

You may notice that a lot of these projects are finish up projects! I’ve realized that when I start a project, I like a quick result so I do part of the project and then, leave the rest unfinished. So my goal is to finish up those half done projects and also, attempt some of the bigger projects that I would have been too intimidated to try in the past. Wish me luck!
