It's Been Awhile, and Our Favourite Smoothies

It’s been a little while since I’ve written on here and truthfully, I have been a little lost in what to write. This is such an uncertain, overwhelming, and stressful time and I struggled with putting down my thoughts. I journaled personally because I think what we are going through is historic and something I will want to look back on in the future.

But as for this blog, I started it as an outlet for myself, a place to revisit my passions, a place to do things that I love and a place to write about it all. (Also, a place that the little fingers couldn’t touch, as much as I love them.) And I think that especially during this difficult situation, that’s what I want this blog to be - an outlet for me and possibly an outlet for you too.

So, here we go!

I don’t know about you, but being stuck at home, for me, has meant that I’ve been in the kitchen waaaaayyy too much! I’ve been eating terribly which has not been helping my overall mood and so over the last couple of weeks, I’ve turned a new leaf on this quarantine and have been trying to get my family back on track and filling our bodies with nutrients rather than leftover cake...

And my go to for adding nutrients in my diet is SMOOTHIES!! Aren’t smoothies just the best?! It’s got to be one of the easiest ways to add nutrients in a delicious way! We make them for breakfasts, snacks and I like having one after a workout! Smoothies are kind of like soup in the sense that you can throw veggies like spinach in and it can be disguised by the all other wonderful flavours. Although, Emilia now has a love for spinach not because it’s healthy but because it makes her smoothie green and green is her favourite colour!!

Here are two of our favourite smoothies:

1. Our Go-To Green Smoothie:

-3 bananas

-2 large handfuls of frozen spinach

-2.5 cups of unsweetened almond milk

-3 tbsp. hemp seeds

Makes 3 servings.

2. Banana Chocolate Smoothie

I've been experimenting with the Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk and this Banana Chocolate Smoothie is a guilt-free treat and it basically tastes like a chocolate milkshake!!

-3 frozen bananas

-1 tbsp. Almond butter

-2 cups of unsweetened chocolate almond milk

Makes 3 servings.

What are your favourite smoothie recipes??? I'm ready to try some more!

Love,
